What if there was a grant that could help families struggling with the high costs of infertility treatments (IVF)?

For those families deterred from seeking fertility assistance due to financial constraints — the cost of IVF tends to be the number one barrier to seeking treatment — there’s an organization dedicated to providing access — and hope!

Baby Quest Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides grants to help families cover the costs of procedures such as IVF, gestational surrogacy, egg freezing, egg and sperm donation, and embryo donation. It recently announced a partnership with their newest ambassador, Kenya Moore, the first black woman to win the title of Miss USA and a regular on the TV show The Real Housewives of Atlanta. As part of her role, Moore is personally donating to create the Kenya Moore’s Baby Quest: Gift of Life Grant specifically for families in her two home towns of Atlanta and Detroit.

The price tag on fertility treatments puts them out of reach for many families.

With the average cost of just one cycle of infertility treatments at about $12,000, the process is out of reach for many families who simply can’t afford it. The cost is even higher for those who require multiple cycles before getting pregnant. Some insurance companies cover part or all of the treatments, but it’s not common, and many don’t cover any infertility treatments at all.

Grants like these ease the burden on struggling families by offering much-needed financial relief. So far, about 78 babies have been born as a result of Baby Quest’s grants and nearly $2 million in aid has been given out.

Baby Quest Foundation is clear that it doesn’t discriminate based on ethnic background, sexual orientation, or marital status, a win for families who worry they don’t fit a certain profile. There is, however, a checklist of requirements to begin the application process. To learn more, visit the Baby Quest Foundation website
